Pensacola State College is bringing comedy to the forefront with improv from famed The Second City that will leave the crowd laughing out loud

It’s long been said that laughter is medicine for the soul, and Pensacola State College (PSC) is ensuring the community gets a big dose of it with its Foo Foo Festival program, The Second City’s Touring Company in “Out of the House Party.” PSC’s Andy Barbero sits down to share details on the upcoming comedy event that is sure to be a crowd favorite.

Q: Congratulations on getting a Foo Foo Festival grant. What does it mean for PSC?

A: We’re obviously excited to be part of the Foo Foo Festival and get the opportunity to bring something to Pensacola that we’re very excited about. Without the help of Foo Foo, we probably wouldn’t be able to put this on and have The Second City here, so we’re grateful and excited.

Q: This will be the second time PSC has brought The Second City to Pensacola, right?

A: Yes, we had them here back in 2018, and they sold out. It was an absolutely amazing event, so we couldn’t be more excited about getting them back here again.

Q: So what is the event and what should patrons expect?

A: “The Second City’s Touring Company in  “Out of the House Party” presented by PSC and FFF is scheduled for Wednesday, November 9, here on campus in the Ashmore Auditorium, and it will be a night of improv. So many famous comedians got their start in The Second City. Legends such as Dan Aykroyd, Tina Fey, and Chris Farley. We’ll be getting a night of the best of the best up-and-coming improv performers in the country, so it’s an awesome opportunity for patrons to have a fun night of improv-watching performers who they probably will recognize on television eventually. So prepare to laugh, prepare to have a good time, and prepare for an interactive experience you won’t forget.

Q: It sounds like it’s going to be a can’t miss event. When do tickets go on sale?

A: Tickets will go on sale to the public on September 30. The last time they were here, tickets sold out incredibly quickly, and we’re expecting that this time as well.
