From Opera to Opry… Pensacola Opera is proud to present Songs Down South! Sponsored by Art, Culture, and Entertainment, Inc. (ACE) as a part of this year’s 10th Anniversary of Foo Foo Fest, Songs Down South will celebrate two well-loved southern traditions—food and music!
Enjoy a variety of southern crafted cocktails, wine, and beer curated by Birmingham’s Scott Jones, former Food and Wine Editor of Southern Living and now the owner of a regional wine-tasting company. Fill your glass and then indulge in some of the finest Southern food in the region prepared by William “Bill E. Stitt” from Bill E’s restaurant in Fairhope, Ala., who cures and supplies the small batch bacon we all enjoy at local restaurants Jackson’s Steakhouse and Restaurant Iron.
Heading inside the Jean & Paul Amos Studio, the diverse musical lineup includes favorite selections from musical theatre, opera, country, bluegrass, gospel, spirituals, and blues by headlining artists such as the Opera Cowgirls, opera stars Michael Mayes & Megan Marino, genre-bending artist Janinah Burnett and our very own Jan Miller Studio Artists.
Emceeing the evening, and providing her own comedy and musical performances, will be Loosey LaDuca – a nationally recognized drag artist appearing as none other than the queen of country herself, Dolly Parton.
Put on your good boots and join us for Songs Down South—a festival of southern music, food & spirits! Y’all will be glad you came.
