When the Friends of Downtown Pensacola brought the Umbrella Sky Project to Pensacola and the US in 2017, it became the most successful new event in the history of the Foo Foo Festival. It is estimated that more than 100,000 people enjoyed the Pensacola Umbrella Sky during its four-week run. The colorful project gained a cult following on social media, and photographs continue to be as popular today as they were then.
This extraordinary response is the reason that the Friends of Downtown decided to design a new aerial public art display for Foo Foo 2022.
Pensacola Bubble Alley will offer a colorful and unique visual experience for Pensacola to enjoy, share, photograph, and be proud of.
Pensacola Bubble Alley will suspend several thousand reusable vinyl “bubbles” high above Intendencia St (between Jefferson and S. Tarragona St. — outside of Angelena’s Restaurant) in the heart of downtown Pensacola throughout Foo Foo Festival beginning Nov. 3. Located conveniently amidst and between other Foo Foo events, and walkable from downtown shops, galleries, bars and restaurants, the open-air festival is accessible to enjoy both day and night, a fun, free destination for all ages.
