Established in 1559 by the Spanish, Pensacola has a long and fascinating history. While there are many well-known figures in the city’s past—there are many more influential people who helped to make this city what it is today.

Pensacola natives and visitors don’t always get to hear the stories of these less-famous figures from our past, but this is their chance. Fiesta Pensacola is proud to present the

Living Museum: A Trip through Pensacola’s History.

Last year, the characters from Pensacola’s past included Martin Weissman “Trader Jon”, Don Tristan de Luna, Spanish Settlers, Mariana Bonifay, Dr. Robert Bell Hargis, Genevieve Ham, Helen Hunt West, Andrew Jackson and Vince Whibbs, Sr.

This year’s event promises to be bigger and better than the inaugural year!

This event is unique in that it will serve as a genuine timeline of Pensacola’s history, not only focusing on the founding of Pensacola or the majority groups of our past but going further into history and including the minority groups and events that are important but maybe not traditionally covered in the history books.

The best part of this event is that the actors will use the artifacts in the Pensacola Museum of History as parts of the show, making the actual relics into props that actors can reference.
