JAZZ FOR JUSTICE ANNOUNCES MUSIC LINEUP FOR FOO FOO FEST!
Date Posted: Sep 22, 2022
Selected as a grant-funded event by this year’s Pensacola Foo Foo Festival committee, Legal Services of North Florida (LSNF) is bringing the vibrant notes and intricate rhythms of jazz crooners back to downtown Pensacola this fall with the annual Jazz for Justice music event. This year’s event closes out the active festival calendar at Foo Foo Festival, landing on Sunday, November 13 at Pensacola’s Museum Plaza from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Get ready to soak in New Orleans jazz right in the heart of Pensacola!
Jazz for Justice is starting the afternoon with Pensacola’s own 9th Avenue Brass Band, with a New Orleans second-line style and notes to carry you all the way over to Southern Louisiana. Then, back by popular demand, Tuba Skinny is bringing their collection of street musicians and turning Museum Plaza into a dream of traditional NOLA ragtime, and jazz sounds, bringing the rich musical heritage to life in front of the audience!
Finally, the main event, this year’s featured artist – The Soul Rebels! This band will expand your mind when it comes to traditional jazz and adds a new take on blended funk, soul, and elements of hip hop, jazz, and rock. Their music has seen collaborations with prominent artists like Katy Perry, Nas, G-Eazy, DMX, Macy Gray, Portugal The Man, Robert Glasper, Pretty Lights, Curren$y, Joey Bada$$, Talib Kweli, GZA, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Raekwon, Metallica, and more!
Family-friendly activities will be available all throughout the afternoon to entertain the entire family! LSNF is partnering with Gallery Night artists, to bring even more talent and beauty to the Jazz for Justice experience. Additionally, the Pensacola MESS Hall will not only bring activities for kids and those who are kids at heart, they will also provide demonstrations and exciting activities for anyone with a curious mind.
This event is FREE and open to the public, so don’t miss an opportunity to see these amazing artists while they are in Pensacola. VIP tickets are also available and include exclusive access to the Voices of Pensacola building, food, and beverages during the evening.
