Songs We’ve Loved to Sing

Date Posted: Jul 20, 2015

“Songs We’ve Loved to Sing” marks the first concert of the Choral Society of Pensacola’s 80th season serving Northwest Florida and South Alabama. To celebrate their long history, the 60-member chorus will perform songs drawn from the Choral Society’s repertoire since its founding in 1935.

Works on the program range from choral masterpieces by Bach, Beethoven and Rachmaninoff to contemporary compositions by Thompson and Whiteacre to folk and patriotic songs. The concert also features performances by soprano Sheila Murphy Dunn and tenor Antonio Giuliano, all under the direction of Artistic Director Xiaolun Chen. Pianist Ila Brown will accompany.
